The Hong Kong 2009 East Asian Games (EAG) is one of Asia's showpiece athletic gatherings, featuring top-class athletes from nine participating countries and regions. More than 3,500 athletes, the largest number of athletes ever to take part in the EAG, will compete for 262 gold medals in a record-breaking 22 sports. The theme of the Hong Kong 2009 EAG is 'Be the Legend' and Dony and Ami, the friendly mascots of EAG will be greeting visitors to the Games.
